Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine - College of Pharmacy Admissions and Articulation Agreement

The Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM) agrees to reserve a minimum of 5 seats for qualified applicants who graduate from the College of Pharmacy, Glendale (CPG). 

Eligibility Requirements

To be guaranteed a seat, applicants from the College of Pharmacy, Glendale must meet all the following requirements:

  • Apply by December 31 of the second year of the Doctor of Pharmacy training year.
  • Applications are made through AACOMAS, for the AZCOM class, with deferred admission for successful candidates upon completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 through the winter quarter of the second year (application year) in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at MWU for provisional admission and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or better to retain admission to AZCOM.  
  • Receive a score of 495 or higher on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) within the four years prior to anticipated matriculation at AZCOM.  
  • Receive scores of “accept†from all interviewers at AZCOM.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of osteopathic medicine and a sincere interest in a career in the field.
  • Meet all other requirements and prerequisites set forth by MWU as documented in the catalog, student handbook, and this agreement.
  • Complete the Doctor of Pharmacy degree by the summer quarter prior to the start of classes at AZCOM.
  • Remain in academic and professional good standing throughout the Doctor of Pharmacy program.  
  • Pass all courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy (no course replacements will be accepted).

Application Process and Admissions Timeline

If by May 1 of the annual admissions cycle, AZCOM has not accepted at least 5 applicants from College of Pharmacy, then AZCOM may, at its discretion, offer the remaining seats for that cycle to other applicants. The reserved seats for the Pharmacy students will be reviewed annually with a potential adjustment to the number of seats depending on the total applicant pool and the educational progress of students admitted under the articulation agreement.

This agreement may be discontinued for any reason providing that written notice is given 12 months prior to such discontinuation and that those students who have been accepted under this agreement be permitted to complete their course of study.
