Curriculum for Verde Valley Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency
The program follows 13 four-week blocks. The core training includes the following specializations over 36 months (3 years): internal medicine ward based, pulmonary/ICU, night block, emergency medicine, cardiology, hematology/oncology, palliative care and hospice, VA outpatient clinic, nephrology, neurology, infectious disease, geriatrics, gastroenterology, interventional radiology/POCUS, rheumatology, continuity clinic, and electives (including, but not limited to allergy/immunology, dermatology, geriatrics, rheumatology, pain management/addiction, palliative medicine and hospice, pulmonology/sleep medicine, gastroenterology, women’s health, palliative medicine and hospice).

Core Didactics
Core didactics include lunch lectures, tumor boards, GI grand rounds, morbidity and mortality, simulation training, and journal club.
