Social Prescribing for Health
Presented by Tiffany F. Hughes, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., FGSA, Assistant Professor, Master of Public Health Program, Midwestern University College of Graduate Studies
An important part of being a healthcare provider is being able to determine the healthiest treatment plan for the patient’s needs. But what happens when the best treatment doesn’t require a trip to the pharmacy? In this presentation, Dr. Hughes will explain the role socialization can play in health, wellness promotion, and care. By focusing on key elements of the social prescribing model such as movement, social connection, arts, and services, Dr. Hughes will discuss how patients and the healthcare system can benefit from this evidence-based treatment.
