In 2025, we were excited to celebrate a milestone in the history of our college - the 125th Anniversary of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM), Midwestern University’s founding College.

History

Midwestern University has a proud and impressive history.  Founded in 1900 by J. Martin Littlejohn, Ph.D., D.O., M.D. (1865–1947), as the American College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery - later renamed the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine - the institution was incorporated in Chicago, Illinois, to train physicians in a nonprofit setting.
